ABOUT PI
Dongryeol Ryu, Ph.D., an Associate Professor
at the Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology (GIST) in South Korea,
leads the Molecular and Integrative Biology Laboratory. His research focuses on aging, metabolism, muscle, and mitochondrial homeostasis.
He earned his Ph.D. in Molecular Cell Biology
from SKKU-SOM, South Korea, in 2010,
and subsequently completed postdoctoral training
under Prof. Johan Auwerx at EPFL, Switzerland.
Prof. Ryu has been recognized
as a Clarivate Highly Cited Researcher (Top 1%) in 2022
and
ranks among the top 2% of scientists worldwide in 2023, accolades from Stanford University and Elsevier
for his significant contributions to biomedical science.
The MIB lab has been using integrative biology approaches to understand molecular signaling pathways underpinning aging, metabolism, mitochondrial homeostasis, and their related diseases.
